- 1 cup unsalted pistachios, chopped
- 5 oz kunafa (knafeh) noodles
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Melt half the butter and combine with kunafa noodles until coated. Press half into the bottom of the baking dish.
- In another bowl, melt remaining butter; mix with sugar and cocoa powder until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour brownie batter over the kunafa base and sprinkle remaining kunafa on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until edges are set but center remains soft. Let cool slightly before serving.
