- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (25g)
- ¾ cup Nutella (240g)
- ¼ cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa) for drizzling (45g)
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
- In a clean bowl, whip egg whites until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar while whipping until stiff peaks form.
- If desired, add food coloring, then gently fold the dry mixture into the whipped egg whites until just combined.
- Pipe small circles onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until risen and feet develop, then cool completely on the baking sheet.
- Mix Nutella until creamy for filling; melt dark chocolate if using for drizzling.
- Assemble by spreading Nutella on one macaron shell and topping it with another.
