Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour (100g)
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (150g)
  • 3 large egg whites (90g)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (25g)
  • ¾ cup Nutella (240g)
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa) for drizzling (45g)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  3. In a clean bowl, whip egg whites until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar while whipping until stiff peaks form.
  4. If desired, add food coloring, then gently fold the dry mixture into the whipped egg whites until just combined.
  5. Pipe small circles onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until risen and feet develop, then cool completely on the baking sheet.
  7. Mix Nutella until creamy for filling; melt dark chocolate if using for drizzling.
  8. Assemble by spreading Nutella on one macaron shell and topping it with another.
