Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and remaining sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Fold in chopped apples.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown; check doneness with a toothpick.
- For the custard sauce, combine milk, sugar, and whisked eggs in a saucepan over low heat; stir until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
